The INCoDe.2030 program recently distinguished the Stemcamp project with the seal “UMA AAÇÃO INCODE.2030”, which aims to recognize, distinguish and give notoriety to actions that signal the broad mobilization of society around the goals and targets of INCoDe.2030 .
The Stemcamp educational project aims to complement existing teaching models with innovative pedagogical practices that make it possible to transform the future of children and adolescents through technology and other essential skills. Its main goal is to fight two current problems, the lack of knowledge in technology and computational language, and the difficulty in learning through new platforms.
This initiative is based in Aveiro, where it will start an incubation process at PCi-Centro de Tecnologia da Universidade de Aveiro, and where it carries out bootcamps to teach programming, robotics and entrepreneurship practices to children aged 5 to 7.
Stemcamp, after carrying out a study on how to overcome students’ low interest in online classes, developed its own platform for teaching STEM skills. This online platform is aimed at children and teenagers between 11 and 14 years old, has 180 classes in 12 knowledge trails, transforming them into challenges and interesting content, motivating children and young people to continue their studies in the field of technology.
