The Global Teacher Prize Portugal is back to distinguish teachers who stand out in the identification and creative and effective resolution of situations in the school context.
The Global Teacher Prize Portugal is the national version of the so-called “Education Nobel”, the Global Teacher Prize (GTP), an initiative present in more than 120 countries, with the aim of celebrating and recognizing the role of teachers around the world. This award aims to publicize the best teaching methodologies and innovative projects developed by teachers, thus enhancing students’ academic ability and performance.
The 2021 Edition of this international award, promoted by the Varkey Foundation, is present for the 4th consecutive year in Portugal, by the hands of Afonso Mendonça Reis, member of the international jury and founder and president of the Portuguese edition jury. This year the jury has a novelty, Professor Elvira Fortunato, who assumes the presidency.
The €30,000 prize is intended for all teachers working in the profession, from pre-school to 12th grade (regular or others).
Applications must be submitted on the Global Teacher Prize Portugal website, by the teachers themselves.
