2nd EDITION OF THE DIGITAL WEEK RUNS FROM MAY 3 TO 6

The XXII Government decided to dedicate the week May 3 to 6 to Digital Transition, generating debates on the empowerment and inclusion of citizens, the digital transformation of the business fabric and the digitization of the State. This is the second edition, after the Digital Transition Action Plan was presented in 2020, within the scope of the Digital Week that took place in March, days before the state of emergency was first decreed in Portugal.

The goal is to celebrate the Plan’s first year, with a view to a broad discussion around its measures and execution, involving various government areas and representatives of associative and business sectors.

The Minister of State, Economy and Digital Transition, Pedro Siza Vieira, underlines that “this last year, due to the pandemic context, brought us much closer to the so-called truly digital society. But the answer to the challenge of the Digital Transition is not limited to this natural acceleration. It is therefore crucial to reinforce the debate around the unique opportunity that, from a structural point of view, digitization represents for the transition of our Economic and Social model”.

In 2021, the event takes the name Forum Portugal Digital and takes place over four days, at Pavilhão do Conhecimento.
