Huawei, the DNS.PT Association and INCoDe.2030 signed a memorandum of understanding in which the technology company commits to launch a scholarship program, which aims to benefit a total of 50 Portuguese higher education students in the STEAM areas ( Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics).
It is intended that the management of this program will be monitored by Portugal Digital and by the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality (CIG), in order to encourage equal participation of men and women in the digital age in which we currently live. In this context, it is expected that the same number of scholarships will be awarded to girls and boys, thus promoting gender equality in ICT.
With the signatures of Luisa Ribeiro Lopes, President of the DNS.PT Association and General Coordinator of INCoDe.2030, and Tony Li, CEO of Huawei Portugal, alongside Steven Cai, Vice President for Western Europe at Huawei, in In the presence of the Secretary of State for Digital Transition, André de Aragão Azevedo, and the Secretary of State for Citizenship and Equality, Rosa Monteiro, the memorandum was signed at the StartUp Portugal stand at the Web Summit.
