Action – Your Future Programme
Description – Innovative digital literacy programme in the area of education, which provides, free of charge, an introduction to coding and computer science, through creation and design, using the Micro:bit (a microcontroller board) and a coding game to introduce the world of programming/coding. These innovative methodologies motivate students in their in-class learning through coding and computer science concepts. Both tools promote an immersive experience that translates coding into a visual representation.
Objectives:
- Promote digital literacy in schools;
- Improve the digital skills of students and teachers of the Schools/Groupings located in the Alentejo Region.
Benefits in learning:
- Develop communication skills, teamwork and creative thinking;
- Stimulate the development of an innovative and entrepreneurial spirit;
- Encourage creativity and learning based on the resolution of practical problems;
- Application in various syllabuses, from mathematics, chemistry, science, history and arts;
- Easy to use and very intuitive;
- Does not require the teacher or students to have computing knowledge;
- Introduction to computational thinking.
Target Public: Students and teachers from the 1st, 2nd, 3rd cycle, secondary and professional schools from the Alentejo region
Duration: Until 30.06.2023
The Programme Your Future offers, free of charge, to the Schools:
- Road Show to promote the Project (duration: 1 hour);
- Action “Introduction to Computer Science” – Mentoring to the students (duration: 6 hours/class, distributed in 2 hour blocks);
- 3 kits of 10 micro:bits (2nd, 3rd cycle, secondary and professional);
- Coding game (1st cycle) – Coding Lab.
