Action – The Tech Career GPS

Description –It is a program oriented towards future careers, as it also seeks to respond to the needs of the labor market in terms of upskilling and reskilling, as a way of accelerating the response to technological transformation, currently exacerbated by the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

GPS, because we have the ambition to provide coordinates and guidelines to those who want to explore possibilities for new careers, new perspectives and new paths in the technological world.

Its focus is on the acquisition and development of crucial skills in the future of work, namely programming, data analysis, design and the knowledge and mobilization of complementary tools to digital skills. In parallel, support resources and clues will also be made available to guide participants in the search for jobs in the digital age.

Over the course of four weeks, several workshops and thematic panels will be held, aiming to contribute to collaborative learning, based on a permanent dialogue with experts and on testimonies and contributions from various professionals in the tech area, with synchronous and asynchronous classes.

The aim of this program is to contribute to the training of 250 individuals in the following areas: Communication and Citizenship; Content Creation and Solution Development.

As priority recipients, the following were identified:

– Individuals looking for a career change and to increase their employability potential in the digital skills-oriented labor market;

– Entrepreneurs & Freelancers – who need to invest in new digital skills for the development of their business/projects.

Although it may cover:

– Tech & digital professionals who need to reinforce digital skills;

– Recent graduates, who want to complement their digital knowledge or guide their career.

The underlying operationalization goals aim to train participants at various levels:

– Acquisition of new technological skills, through the use of a collaborative platform;

– Knowledge of online collaborative work methodologies and enhance the spirit of mutual help;

– Use of new online tools;

– Greater knowledge of the technological labor market and jobs with the greatest demand, allowing participants to develop professional development strategies and/or career redirection;

–  Joint reflection and exploration of some future trends and  jobs;

– Appropriation of methodologies that allow them to optimize and reuse the knowledge acquired at a personal and professional level;

– Guidance in the development of positioning strategies and insertion in the job market.
