Action – Literacia Digital – Nós e (A)vós
Description – This action consists of Digital Literacy sessions for seniors over 65 years old, promoted by students and supervised by volunteers and/or teachers. The “Nós e (A)vós “Project is an intergenerational project, it is an Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation (IIES) designed by Sicó Formation S.A., owner of the Technological and Professional School of Sicó (ETP Sicó) and supported from the first minute by the Avelar Parish Council and Leca Portugal, S.A., as Social Investors.
This initiative arises to combat one of the most debated social problems in our country, which is the isolation of the elderly. Through the Social Diagnosis, it is verified that there is a wide group of elderly people whose economic income is generally very low. The “dependence” of the elderly is also a problem that gets worse over the years, configuring itself as the most common health problems: diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular diseases and mental illnesses. It was also found that most of the family members are emigrated and those who remain have to go to their jobs, and most of the elderly live alone and isolated, staying at home for most of the day. These, having no one to talk to and socialize with, show more and more symptoms of depression and other psychological illnesses. Another factor of isolation is the fact that the elderly faces an increasingly technological society, and naturally feel excluded. Another social problem is aimed at young people in our country, which is school failure and, as a result, the increase in cases of misbehavior in the classroom and school dropout.
The focus of action with this IIES is to bet on social and intergenerational intervention in a community context that will allow the creation and development of a set of activities to combat isolation and loneliness in old age, facilitating and supporting the family in maintaining the elderly in their natural environment of life and educate future adults with values and awakened to aging stages.
The theme of digital literacy was chosen, mainly, for the elderly to be able to handle various computer tools in order to talk to/see their family members, promoting proximity and combating social isolation.

• Completion of documents, such as tax return;
• Internet em casa;
• Telemóvel não é um bicho;
• Gerações;
• Cognitive stimulation games.
