SiosLIFE aims to be the social movement of reference in the elderly’s social inclusion. Different interactive platforms are used to reach the various groups (elderly, family and institution), as well as innovative and optimized technological solutions for the surrounding context of the elderly: attendance or hospitalization in a social support institution (ERPI, Day Center, etc.) , institutional support at home (SAD), and even, with siosLIFE’s most recent solution, those who do not benefit from any institutional support.
With the appropriate adaptation of technology and use of natural interfaces (movements, gestures, touch and voice), simplification of the communication between the software and the user and ergonomic adaptation of the hardware, the result was the development of a system usable by anyone.
With a comprehensive range of content customized to the needs, abilities and tastes of each user, even those who have never had contact with new technologies can, in an easy, motivating and intuitive way, enjoy a reality hitherto inaccessible: simplified communication with the family and friends (sharing photos and videos, messages, video calling); cognitive stimulation (memory, literacy, numeracy, complex reasoning, among others); physical stimulation (coordination, balance, specific areas of the body); multimedia content (music, video, news, drawing and painting) and religious content.
Starting from a paradigm of continuous improvement, development is carried out by a multidisciplinary group of professionals who recognize the elderly’s problems, needs, challenges and motivations. In this process, feedback from social technicians is crucial, having an active voice in the evolution of the project – ensuring sustainable growth and adjusted to the real scenario.
The solution generates direct benefits for all target segments (elderly, family, institution and surrounding community) and gives them a new perspective. In this way, it triggers a process of adopting new behaviors aimed at solving the social problem and inherent needs.
