The 2nd edition of Huawei’s scholarship programme, aimed at higher education students, is now open. INCoDe.2030 is one of the partners of this initiative, which will support a total of 50 male and female students in the areas of engineering and science, intending to award the same number of scholarships to girls and boys, thus promoting gender equality in ICT.
The 2021 edition received around 3,000 applications, 45% of which were from women and supported 50 undergraduate, master’s and PhD students with a €5,000 scholarship. A further 50 scholarships will now be awarded, bringing the investment in direct financial support for Portuguese students to 500,000 euros.
The second edition is developed once again in partnership with .PT and is supported by INCoDe.2030, Portugal Digital and the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality.
This year, the scope was extended to students from the renewable energies area, in line with the development of this business area of Huawei in Portugal.
