Action – Hórus – Formação de mediadores digitais
Description – Póvoa de Varzim – Vila do Conde Hospital Center, EPE (CHPVVC) has an ongoing process of digital transformation and health literacy, in the context of the Hórus Project, within the framework of the initiative – of national scope – SNS Sem Papel and which includes the following actions:
1) Protocols / training
Aiming at the unanimous commitment to promote digital health literacy among our citizens, CHPVVC signed protocols with local authorities and various municipal institutions, whose proximity to the populations is of inestimable value and a consequent added value.
The CHPVVC Patient Management Service has promoted compliance with the protocol signed with local authorities, various municipal institutions and senior universities. Almost 85% of these entities have already received training, in order to support users in the digital relationship with the hospital and SNS, through the citizen area.
Between Póvoa de Varzim Parish Councils, Misericórdia da Póvoa, the Portuguese Red Cross (Póvoa de Varzim Delegation) and the local Senior University, work has been done that is like a seed for the future, revealing itself at the same time an essential tool against social exclusion.
The objective of this initiative is that each of these institutions can be an extension of the hospital and the SNS, becoming digital mediators, so that unnecessary trips to the hospital are avoided. To this end, in each entity, stations with computer, internet access and staff trained by the hospital are available to collaborate, if necessary, with patients. In this way, always in an agile and proximity logic, they will also be able to provide the space for carrying out teleconsultations for patients who are not able to have them at home.
2) Creation of “Espaço Cidadão”
CHPVVC invested in the creation of “Espaço Cidadão” to promote digital health literacy among patients/citizens of Póvoa de Varzim and Vila do Conde’s units, providing all resources (tools and human resources) for the use of the Digital Mobile Key and of the Hospital Center and Authority applications.
