Action – Epris 3.0
Description – The Europe 2020 Strategy reinforces the role of vocational training in its strategic framework, identifying specific objectives for 2020 such as making lifelong learning a reality, improving the quality of training and promoting equality, social cohesion and active citizenship. Priority areas include adult qualifications, investment in training, ICT in education and vocational education/training. Decree-Law nº 14/2017, of 26 January, indicates as a national priority the revitalization of adult education/training, a pillar of the qualifications system, translated into the Qualifica Program. It also refers that the training modalities (including the certified modular training included in the CNQ (National Catalogue for Qualifications), within the framework of continuous training) are applied, with the necessary adaptations, to groups with particular integration difficulties and with respect for equality of gender, as is the case of the population to which this action is aimed: women serving time.
This action intends to continue the work developed within the scope of the EPRIS project, approved in 2014 by the Ministry of Justice, and implemented in the Santa Cruz do Bispo Prison (for females), which focuses on digital inclusion as a contribution to a better social reintegration of the inmate population, through professional training.
The action aims to promote professional training via e-learning in a prison context, valuing digital inclusion as a contribution to a better social reintegration of the inmate population, creating an integrated and structured intervention model susceptible of dissemination. Based on the potential of e-learning, this action meets policies focused on mitigating risk factors of social and labor exclusion after serving the sentence.
