INCODE.2030 AT THE BIGGEST NATIONAL SCIENCE MEETING

NEW COORDINATION WILL PRESENT THE TEAM AND THE NEW PROGRAM ACTION PLAN

INCoDe.2030 will be present at the biggest science event in the country, Ciência’21, starting next Monday, June 28, at the Lisbon Congress Centre.

The sessions held by INCoDe.2030 will take place on the 28th and 29th of June, between 11:30 am and 1:00 pm, and will be dedicated to the themes “INCoDe.2030: Restructuring the present, looking to the future!” (room 5B) and “INCoDe.2030: Advanced Digital Skills” (room 5A). This will also be an opportunity for the new General Coordinator Luisa Ribeiro Lopes, to present the new team and the new Action Plan for the Program.

Some of the reflections on these themes will be conducted and debated by the coordinators of the 5 Axis of Action of the Program – Bernardo de Sousa, António Leite and José Pedro Antunes – and will also count in the debate with the participation of representatives of Apps for Good (CDI Portugal), ENSICO- Associação para o Ensino da Computação, Engineers for a day, Cisco Systems Portugal, AWS – Amazon Web Services, Google, Microsoft, CCISP – Coordinating Council of Higher Polytechnic Institutes, FCT/FCCN, National Cybersecurity Center and Estrutura de Missão Portugal Digital.

For Luísa Ribeiro Lopes, General Coordinator of INCoDe.2030, “the main challenge at this stage in which digital transformation is in an accelerated mode is to provide everyone with digital skills that, in particular, allow access to the full exercise of citizenship. From education, through the qualification and requalification of professionals in public administration and the private sector, to advanced qualification and innovation, this is an inclusion movement that is transversal to Portuguese society. Technology itself is creating new professional areas, with emphasis on cybersecurity, data, artificial intelligence, blockchain, advanced computing, among others, which implies a commitment to advanced qualification and the requalification of the job market. This is one of the axes of INCoDe.2030, which could not be more linked to Science and Academia and which involves very concrete actions to attract new talent, so necessary for companies and public administration, and also the requalification of current professionals, ensuring that we count on everyone in this digital transformation process.”

Encontro Ciência 2021″ is promoted by Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia in collaboration with Ciência Viva and the Parliamentary Committee on Education, Science, Youth and Sports, with institutional support from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education.
