EOSC – PLACING EUROPE AT THE EDGE OF DATA ECONOMY

The European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) has made progress in Portugal and Europe, with the support of Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, through the FCCN Unit. This initiative aims to place the European Union in the global leadership in the field of research data, guaranteeing benefits to almost 2 million European scientists.

129 PROJECTS APPROVED

129 PROJECTS APPROVED IN THE ADVANCED COMPUTING CONTEST

The FCCN unit approved 129 projects within the scope of the first edition of the Advanced Computing Projects Competition, promoted by Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (FCT). 67 of the approved projects fall into the A1 and A2 typologies of this competition (Preparatory Access and Project Access), with an approval rate of 50.4% in these categories.

EDUCAST LAUNCHES NEW HTML5 VIDEO EDITOR

The service of the FCCN Unit, Educast, has just released the beta version of the new HTML5 video editor. This tool now uses standard web technologies such as HTML5, CSS and JavaScript, thus replacing the previous version developed in Flash and introducing new features.
