“PORTUGAL MAIS IGUAL” UNDER DEBATE ON INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY

The opening session will be chaired by Rosa Monteiro, Secretary of State for Citizenship and Equality
Next Monday, International Women’s Day, at 3:00 pm, the role of women in the technology sector will be debated, in the session ” “Portugal Digital mais Igual – Iniciativas onde as mulheres (já) têm um lugar ativo”, held by INCoDe.2030, in partnership with the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality, Estrutura de Missão Portugal Digital and .PT. The opening session will be chaired by Rosa Monteiro, Secretary of State for Citizenship and Equality.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ETHICS

“ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ETHICS: DEFINITION, MAIN PROBLEMS AND POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS” UNDER DEBATE IN THE NEXT SESSION OF TALKS@[DCC]

On the 25th of February, at 6:00 pm, another TALKS@[dcc] lecture will be held, on the topic “Artificial Intelligence Ethics: definition, main problems and possible solutions”. The lecture will be led by Luca M. Possati (Researcher and Philosopher at the University of Porto), who will elaborate questions and define possible solutions on ethics in Artificial Intelligence, analyzing its main approaches and concrete applications.

UBBU PROJECT RECEIVES MORE THAN ONE MILLION EUROS FOR TEACHING PROGRAMMING IN SCHOOLS

UBBU-Learn to Program received the highest Social Impact Title (TIS) ever, worth 1,050,000 euros, and this is not the first time it has been awarded: in 2015 it was awarded the first TIS in Portugal. The objective of this project is to increase the level of digital literacy of students in the 1st and 2nd cycle of basic education over the next three years, allowing free access to programming classes to the schools that integrate it. Fundação Altice, Banco Montepio, Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa and Siemens are the project’s financiers, which will be evaluated by FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia, which is an action of INCoDe.2030.
